How Simply Elegant was born….
Katie Durshpek was always passionate about interior design. Growing up she was always the person that family and close friends looked to for design ideas, and suggestions, when it came to laying out rooms, and choosing the right colors. Her husband Erik Durshpek encouraged her to quit her job and take her talents and aspirations to opening personal business in design.
At that time several family members had weeding and asked Katie to provide ideas and vision in creating something that aligned with the brides’ desires.

My ultimate purpose is to bring honor and glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus, through every facet of our work. We are deeply rooted and steadfastly grounded in Him. God has instilled within me a profound love for humanity and a strong commitment to serve. He has graciously endowed me with both a fervent passion and an innate talent for the art of floral design. Working with His exquisite creation every day is a true blessing.
Floral arrangements possess the remarkable power to transform spaces and amplify the beauty of weddings – it’s a sensation you can feel, see, and truly experience. In our arrangements, we weave a narrative – a grand and resplendent story. Brides turn to us because they seek beauty that is not only breathtaking but also organic and infused with romance. Each wedding presents a fresh canvas, and I am genuinely enthralled by every minute detail. My responsibility is to attentively listen and understand the bride’s floral dreams, and then craft pieces that not only manifest those dreams but elevate them to an entirely new realm.
The trust our brides place in us is paramount, and it’s a trust we deeply cherish. It’s an honor and a privilege to be a part of their special day. With every bloom, stem, and petal, we pour our hearts into crafting an experience that resonates with love, beauty, and authenticity. Our work is an ode to the love story being told on that day, and we take immense pride in being entrusted with this significant role.

Simply Elegant Events journey began in early 2013, when Katie was asked by parents and family to create a unique elegant design for her sister’s wedding.
And so, in the year 2013, a simple love for flowers and design ignited a journey of creativity, hard work, and success.
Katies business flourished. Her event designs became synonymous with elegance and innovation, transforming venues into breathtaking wonderlands. Her passion for flowers and dedications to her craft continued to shine, making her beloved figure in both the local community and the event industry.
